In contemporary society, where information flows at an unprecedented speed, the traditional proverb "No news is good news" has become a subject of intense debate. While some argue that an absence of news indicates a peaceful status quo, I fundamentally disagree with this assertion. In my perspective, a lack of information often breeds complacency and deprives both individuals and governments of the opportunity to take preemptive measures. First and foremost, in the realm of public administration and crisis management, timely information is indispensable. Take the outbreak of a pandemic or a natural disaster as an example. If authorities conceal critical data under the guise that "no news is good news," the public will be left vulnerable and completely unprepared. Transparency, on the contrary, empowers citizens to adopt preventive measures, thereby mitigating potential catastrophic consequences. Consequently, withholding news does not equate to peace; rather, it often masks impending crises that demand immediate attention and collective action.
